Ogee
Ogee: Same as ogee, same as cyma recta recta, An S shape, made by making one cut that produces two identical pieces; or alternatively, A molding with an S-shaped curve formed by the union of a concave and convex line; that is, a cyma recta or cyma reversa.

The distinguishing characteristics of WilÂliam-and-Mary furniture are the ogeed and flat arched aprons, the straight cup-turned legs, and the curved stretchers. These features are all illustrated in the walnut high-boy.
